I have bought 3 of these over a two year period.. I brought the first 2 back because they were defective and grossly in-accurate If I had not used a instant read thermometer the dinner would have been ruined. I bought another one 2 years later hoping they had been improved.. besides still being in-accurate, even the digital display became defective after a week. Do not trust your dinner to this total waste of a product!!!
Description of Oneida 31161 Digital Thermometer & Timer
Keep the oven door closed to keep heat inside, yet know the precise temperature of the food you're cooking! How is it possible? Thanks to the cable and probe which links food temperature information to the digital display, that's how. Additionally this device functions as a 24 hour timer. Set the timer or the temperature and the alarm will let you know when the food is ready. The large LCD read out is clearly visible whether you mount this to a magnetic surface or let it sit on your counter. This Pyrex Accessories 2-in-1 thermometer/timer allows you to measure the temperature (in Celsius or Fahrenheit) of your food as it cooks--without opening the oven door. A thin cord attaches the commercial-quality probe to a digital display screen that sits on your countertop. The true beauty of this gadget is that a timer sounds once the preset temperature of the food is reached, allowing you to read in the other room without having to continually check the temperature reading. This gadget works equally well on the stovetop, and also functions as a simple digital kitchen timer. An adjustable display stand lets you swivel the screen to the angle of your liking, while a magnet on the back of the stand gives you the convenient option to place or store the display on your refrigerator.
